Legacy Projects

How Would You Like to be Remembered?

The greatest legacy anyone can leave behind is to positively impact the lives of others. You can impact others with history, music, faith, love, service, children, money, a passion, or a specific skillset. The possibilities are endless. Using creative platforms we can create a tangible and visual interconnection across generations. A hands on way to be remembered.

"Carve your name on hearts, not tombstones. A legacy is etched into the minds of others and the stories they share about you."

Vigil Planning

How Would You Like to be Honored?

Vigil planning can bring peace to the passing by setting a desired tone to the process. From choosing the music, sights and smells you want to experience to outlining any cultural, doctrinal, religious, symbolic or traditional rituals you want implemented and respected.

Often times after a loved one passes those present find comfort in performing these rituals. It can be a healing opportunity for them to physically honor you one last time.

Active Listening ~ Life Review

Your Life was Not By Accident

Every choice you've made and word you've said has left a ripple in the water. Many ripples were felt by those closest to you and many reached far beyond your awareness. Your life and the lives you touched all happened for a reason. Life review can uncover patterns, lessons, and meaning. Sharing your life course good and bad can be healing and profound. Stories, memories and reflection can lead to the discovery of what life meant for you and what your purpose was.

Guided Imagery ~ Visualization

Go Anywhere, Do Anything

Guided imagery is a form of focused relaxation, meditation. It incorporates all of the senses and your imagination to create a "mental escape" to anywhere you would like to go or anything you would like to experience.

Guided imagery provides a powerful psychological strategy that enhances a person’s coping skills. Shown to stimulate changes in bodily functions such as heart rate, blood pressure and breathing patterns guided imagery can be a useful tool in lessening pain and anxiety.

Holding Hands

In Person Bedside Support

With You Until the End

The final hours are all about the moments in them. A cool washcloth on the forehead, the gentle stroke of your hair, a hand to hold.  It is the most intimate of times.

As additional support for loved ones or standing in for those who are unable to be there. You do not need to be alone. In the final hours we do our best to be available to provide in person bedside support.  At Honored Transitions we believe it is an honor to be the person at bedside holding your hand.

Keepsake Creation

Something to Hold

"Put my ashes in some jewelry so I can be with my daughter when she travels."

Keepsakes are not limited to jewelry or ashes. They can be made at any time using a photograph, lock of hair,  beads or dried flowers. We can create a unique keepsake in resin such as an encased photograph, bookmark, wearable art or a trinket box. This can also be used in the creation of legacy projects.

Lead Doula

Face.jpg

I am INELDA (International End of Life Doula Association) trained as well as a registered member of the California Caregiver Registry.

I have worked in the service and medical industry for 20+ years. I was an M.A. at Scripps Green Hospital as well as a Personal Aide in the elder community. In 2014 I began a career in Care Management and advocacy representing, advocating, and caring for people of all ages whose quality of life was negatively impacted by illness or neglect.

This type of work has placed me bedside for the passing of many beautiful souls. Death is a natural part of life yet it is seldom discussed or emotionally planned for. My desire is to empower and guide you and your loved ones through this transition making it as beautiful, intimate, sacred and personal as possible.

I started Honored Transitions because of my grandparents. We had an amazing bond throughout my life. Over the years we experienced joy, love and human condition. We saw serious illness such as Stroke, Dementia, Traumatic Brain Injury and Cancer.  I was honored to support them and walk with them on the journeys of aging that followed. In the end I was blessed to be able to sit bedside, tell stories, laugh with them and advocate for their last wishes.

It would be an honor to assist you and your loved ones in this transition.
